Susan and Vocalisters:

I finely written post and expressing a most important difficulty for
singers. There really is no answer except to approach each
performance situation as an opportunity to practice your important
art and with an audience to complete the process. Your process of
performance is more important than any feedback you might receive. A
recording is worth more than any comments from listeners regardless
of their credentials. Ultimately, your singing is judged by you only
against your concept of what it was or should have been. It is
obvious that you felt you performed well and that is all that is
important. Jobs, gigs, future performances do depend on others views
of you but your view of yourself will, ultimately be the controlling
factor in how others perceive you. The old saying: an audition or
performance is only of value to the performer is always true.
