I saw an obituary yesterday for Susannah McCorkle, jazz and cabaret singer and a writer and scholar of popular song.
I heard her twice in Philadelphia, in the cabaret series presented by the American Music Theater Festival; wrote about her, and enjoyed a delightful afternoon tea with her at the Bellevue.
She apparently committed suicide.
I feel terribly, terribly sad.
