Karen, I have been using Carol Kimball's "Song: A Guide to Style and
Literature" (Pst Inc.) for a three semester course. I supplement with
readings from the art song portion of the bibliography found in the files
for vocalist-temporary. Of all those sources, I find Donald Ivey's "Song:
Anatomy, Imagery and Styles" to be my own 'second text' for the course.
