Based on how much my voice teacher & discuss what we are both doing musically, I think it would be odd not to query my voice teacher about she thought about me taking lessons with someone else during a time that I couldn't study with her. It is a matter of trust & professionalism.
A teacher that truly has his/her student best interest at heart shouldn't feel threatened that the student wants to continue to study while at home for the summer.
