Would that it were really true! But, ohhh--- how often I've heard people
tell me that they judge a voice teacher by the abilities of the students.
One fellow, a teacher of singing him/herself, once made a disparaging
comment to me (naive impressionable student that I am) about another teacher
after hearing *one* student sing poorly.

So, I think it depends on the particular teacher. If s/he is *well*
established with a rock solid record of successful students, then it doesnt'
matter if one student stumbles. But a young teacher trying to establish a
reputation of successes may be less secure.
