The most beautiful, inspiring religious song I have heard of late is "A
Simple Song" from Leonard Bernstein's MASS. The original Celebrant was
baritone Alan Titus. Truly a sweet, transcendant piece. Your average
Baptist probably won't be familiar with it, but I think it is so appealing
(the text is from the Psalms) that it would definitely be appreciated.
Peter Lutkin's song "The Lord Bless You and Keep You" is another simple,
lovely piece based on the Psalms.
