Hi Mark -
I heard Ms. Nilsson sing Tosca at the Dorothy
Chandler (L.A.) in 1973. Although she was
a little under the weather vocally that evening.
The power of that voice felt like a cannon
blowing away everything in it's path. It
was quite unlike anything I'd ever experienced
or probably will. I also remember in an
interview she once said "I learned to REALLY sing
one night when I had Laryngitis and performed
anyway." This lady was certainly
an icon. THE Voice of steel...... Quite
remarkable.
