I bet there are some GREAT Gilbert and Sullivan things, like form
Gondoliers.

I think the Nemorino/Belcore or Nemorino/Dulcamara duet from L'Elisir
D'Amore would work. The English translation in the Schirmer score is
pretty good, btw.

Rossini has some nice "chamber" duets. I think there are some
Schumann and Brahms duets as well.

I've heard some students do a "PDQ Bach" cycle about the Zodiac. the
name escapes me at the moment. It was very clever, though.
