Many of you have reported a difficulty using both falsetto and head voice in the same range. I find this analogous to being unable to ride a bicycle on a certain street after learning how to drive a car down that street. The reports bear the irrelevant subject "David Daniels speaks on the CT voice". I initially sent the post below with the subject "Changing mechanisms", as I found that the thread had no longer anything to do with David Daniels. I suspect that my post was missed by many of you as a result, so here it is again:
>I would suggest that to improve one's singing one sing simple phrases >alternating between falsetto and head voice (or whatever you want to >call them!). If you find that you can't do it, then shorten the >phrase, maybe to a single note. Surely there is a single note for >which you have a choice between mechanisms. I would alter "length of the phrase" to "range of the phrase".
I look forward to reading about the experience of anyone who does the experimentation I suggest.
Good luck, John Link
