pat,
i had a stage movement teacher who was a trager practioner and a reiki master (yup!). he used to have us doing feldenkrais exercises as well (they seemed to be in line with illustrations i have seen since in books on feldenkrais). i also went to him for trager treatments (better than any massage i ever had) and i was also trained (?) in reiki by him. all three things were great for dumping stress. the feldenkrais exercises were great for someone like me who tends to smolder behind a blank face. the trager treatments consist of the do-er rocking the various limbs of the do-ee in isolation. although the effects of this type of treatment are temporary, it can really break up the tension. and finally the reiki stuff. the explaination of what reiki is and how it works sounds like the biggest pile of 'ya-ya' but, when i 'received' first degree, i lost stress that never came back. perhaps it was a total charade and i was just fooling myself and, if that were the case, then i would have been a fool not to fool myself. beware though, to hear people talk of reiki you might get the impression that reiki is the japanese word for amway.
get well soon, mike
