What worked great for me, is that I got a job at night working as a singing
waiter for the Macaroni Grill. You don't
make a lot of money in singing tips, but occasionally you do. It conquered my
fear of performing and I am able to sing
anywhere without any fear whatsoever. The very first time I did it, my knees
turned to jell, but after that, I would
eagerly learn new songs to add to my repertoire. I finished out two years of
this (before my feet couldn't take it any
longer) with 12 songs and arias to sing. I learned a lot. My teacher was able
to take my experiences with vocal
troubles and use them to teach me what I needed to do to sing better.

This Christmas eve, I sang my very first paid solo for a church in Middletown,
Ohio. I was so thrilled, I sang the
Comfort Ye, and Every Valley from the Messiah, and the people loved it. I got
the best positive feedback, and I felt
great about what I had done. None is every satisfied totally with a
performance, and on retrospect, you pick it apart.
But I know what I need to do the next time to do it even better.

Best of luck to you milady. You will do great!!
