My voice teacher told me now that it would be ok after years of vocal training, because a voice doesnt mature until the 20s. Is that true? or is it too late?"
Dolphin, Why not? There is certainly nothing stopping you or noboby to say you can't. I am a 19 year old tenor and am pursuing the path towards opera. I just began voice lessons last year, with the exception of some coaching from an ex-opera singer. Many people on this list (as they will attest) have started singing at a much later age, or pursuing an opera/performance career. If you have to courage to go ahead with hard work, then it is not too late.
