I, too, have noticed this. I have also (though not on this list) noticed a
trend among young people to use random caps and lowers along with phonetic
spelling such as:

thE KWik BroWN foCKs JuMP'd oVR The lAZee DaWg. UR2muCh! YknOt? etc. etc.

I am usually at a loss to figure it all out and frankly don't care to
bother. But even all lowers doesn't get to me quite AS MUCH AS ALL CAPS
WHICH MAKES IT SEEM SOMEONE IS YELLING AT ME. I think the all lowers and/
or all caps has less to do with a trend and more to do with laziness. It's
easier not to bother with the shift key - one way or the other - at all.


Jessica ... who, even at the ripe old age of 28 still finds the old
fashioned way is best, at least for some things.
