Hi all,
A poem I've loved for years has gotten itself burned on my brain recently and I wondered if anyone's ever run across a song setting of it.
It's a translation by Yeats of a 16th century French poem:
When you are old and gray and full of sleep And nodding by the fire, take down this book, And slowly read, and dream of the soft look Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;
How many loved your moments of glad grace, And loved your beauty with love false or true, But one man loved the pilgirm soul in you, And loved the sorrows of your changing face...
All tips appreciated!
Carol S. Just braved the mall And crave alcohol But will go to bed, Instead.
