Dear VOCALISTers,

You never know what you might get out of a last-minute sub job. Last Sunday I subbed as the alto solo at a church -- they gave me Xeroxes of all the music for the service. Most memorably, I sang a Mozart SATB + organ setting of Psalm 130 (De profundis)

The copy I have is published by Kjos Music Company (?). It does not refer to the original language (did Mozart, a good Catholic, set it in Latin? Or might it be in German?); nor does it give any indication of what larger work, if any, this piece might come from.

The piece has been haunting me all week. If anybody online has a clue about the origins of this piece, PLEASE post your thoughts!
