Reflux damage is relative. If the acid and digestive enzymes stay out of your vocal apparatus, no problem. Unfortunately, the damage may not be noticeable initially.
Also, reflux can be damaging to your esophagus. For some reason not yet determined, there is a major increase in the rate of esophageal cancer associated with reflux in the last 20 years.
