I tend to lean toward a "no fear" type of approach here. Go after those
notes methodically
never allowing tension to become present. However, in the initial stages
just
get it in your head that you haven't hit a wall, simply an eye-opening
opportunity
to stretch your expectations of yourself. That is the mental side of it.
Personally I put
a lot of stock in the mind part of the singing equation. I personally
believe we
can never sing beyond our perceptions of ourselves. So just go after it
without
excuse and if it's still not there, wait, it may come in time but not now
especially if you
are anywhere under 25 - 27 years of age. Your voice is still likely to
have some growth
to experience yet. Aside from that, I think the physical part of the
equation was covered well by an earlier
response which I will simply echo.
