Mike,
I'm not a Chinese, but I'm a mixed tenor--Chinese and Thai. However, I don't speak Chinese at all. I speak Thai, English, Japanese and few Chinese. So, when I read your message about passaggios, I feel that I could sing that way: light and more falsetto-like. That, however, has made me concerned about my singing a lot whether I was wrong or not, as I was being told many times that falsetto is not good and I shouldn't use it so often. So, I would like to know what everyone here, esp. European, think about it.
By the way, as I studied once with a classical teacher but now with a pop-singing one, I found that the ways they articulate are different: classical way is more rounded than the other one. I would like also to know the reason of these differences. In fact, I would like to be advised too where I should go and learn about singing and its techniques. I really love to improve my singing skill as much as expand my range also. Anyway, any advices or tips will appreciated. Thank you very much.
