Hello!
You are cordially invited to participate in the first public Internet NATS
Chat on
the NATS website at www.nats.org on Sunday evening, January 16, 10-11pm
Eastern time (NY). While most of the NATS Chats will soon be held in the
members
only section of the website (under development), this week's chat is open
to anyone interested. On Sunday, you can use the following log-in and
password to access the scheduled chat from any Internet service provider.
(You no longer need to be a member of America Online to participate.)

Temporary log-in ID: NATS CHAT
Temporary password: sing
URL: http://www.nats.org/testchatinfo.html This URL will not work until
Sunday, but the chatroom instructions are available now on the website's
"NATS Chats and BBS Page."

Once you are in the chatroom, you will be asked to create your own chat name.
It's very easy! Note: this is a new kind of chatroom that we are testing
for use at nats.org; we may experience a few glitches that night but hope
to have fun in the process!

The topic for Sunday, January 16 is.....
MUSICAL THEATER SINGING: Technique and Style. Explore the new and old sounds
of Broadway as we discuss legit, belt, pop, mix, crossover, rock opera,
Disney, and neo-swing. We'll recap the NATS Winter Workshop on Musical
Theater and the Belt Voice (U of Miami, Jan 5-8)

We are posting this notice on Vocalist because this chat format and
location are new, and this particular chat is open to the public. If you
would like to receive notification of upcoming NATS Chat dates, topics and
guests, please sign up for the mailing list at http://www.nats.org. NATS
Chats are typically held the first and third Sunday of each month, 10-11pm
Eastern time, except for holiday weekends. Email topic ideas, guest
suggestions, or questions to NATS Chat host Cynthia Vaughn at
cynvaughn-at-aol.com

[Note: NATS Chats are informal interactive online discussions for singers and
singing teachers. Opinions expressed do not represent the National
Association of Teachers of Singing. NATS reserves the right to archive
transcripts of chats. Please visit http://www.nats.org for further
information,
directions, and chat guidelines.]

'See you online!
