Dear Vocalisters (if this message gets through today -- I've received no incoming messages so far today!):

I just wanted to alert those who might be interested that The Washington Opera's production of Puccini's seldom-performed opera, "La Rondine" will be televised on PBS starting this evening, December 13. In other areas it will be televised different dates, so if this message comes through too
late, check your listings, you may be in luck.

I saw this production last year at the Kennedy Center, and I enjoyed if very much, particularly the performance of lovely soprano Ainhoa Arteta in the lead role. And the music-making under French conductor Emanuel Villaume (don't hold me to the spelling, please!) was also outstanding, as were
the sets and costumes. And a few folks I know (possibly even some current or past Vocalisters) were in the chorus. Stage direction was by Marta Domingo, the wife of the TWO artistic director, who also happens to be one of the "three tenors".
