I'm new to the list. I was inspired to join the list to find Jennifer Fretwell. She had written a message in August of 99 regarding her voice problem. I have a similar problem and would love to contact her. I share her frustrations and I'm hoping we can help each other with differend remedies. Jennifer, if you are still on the list please contact me at girlhenge-at-yahoo.com. I tried e-mailing you but the message was returned to me. If anyone else knows how I may contact her I'd appreciate any info.
Thank you,
Pamela Novick
Sally Bradshaw wrote: The basis of the whole problem is, of course, what happens to your breathing when you are nervous. It is useful and interesting merely to take note of what you experience, eg check where the breath seems to be coming from at times when you are singing well or weakly. You will find that it feels higher in the body when you are not singing so well. Just notice where it is located and that will help to lower it and to relax the mechanism into better coordination. Becoming used to relaxed breathing is the first step to taking control of a performance.
