Hi Everyone,
The ideas for performing at nursing homes and other similar places are going to make a great change in my life. I sing with a guitarist that works second shift 6 days/week about 80 miles from me. I work first shift. We can seldom perform or even practice because of our conflicting work schedules.
Since reading the postings, I have decided to record his guitar part on CD (I can do this through my computer and do editing on the sound file with good results) and then use that CD as accompaniment so that I can still perform at these types of places on my own - provided I come up with some confidence soon. :-) That would help me get over my fear of singing in public, give me needed practice on songs we sing, provide a practice CD for when we can't get together and even a warmup before a performance. Lots of possibilities.
Thanks for everyone's input about this topic!
Nancy
