I would love to know what kind of songs you are singing. That might give us
a clue as to your approach.
Would you say that a voice coach is different to a singing teacher?. Maybe
the emphasis is more on the teaching of the songs than on technique?

What kind of singing do you do away from your lesson?
If you were involved in sport, there would be no issue about warming up,
it's something you do. So also in singing, but obviously you need to do it
correctly and not too much, or there is nothing left for the performance.
