Just like my recordings of "Depuis le jour" ... one is with Kathleen Battle and piano, which is lovely and delicate; and the other is with Renee Fleming and orcheestra, which is also lovely but much more appropriate. Battle would have been dwarfed by an orchestra of that size. For that matter, I can sing "Stride la vampa" or "Mon coeur s'ouvre a ta voix" with piano (and would if I were doing a concert of "typical" mezzo rep) but would never DREAM of doing it in a master class or audition setting!
