By anthem I assume you mean a choral piece, rather than a congregational
one? What size choir do you have? When is the ceremonial service (e.g. how
long do you have to learn the piece?) Are you looking for one piece, or a
longer work? Do you have instruments available as part of your worship
music? Good male or female vocal soloists? What time of year will the
service be (Lent, for example?)? What are the hymns for that weekend?

The joy of picking liturgical music - and the challenge! - is what I love
about my job.
