Sigh, I am a countertenor, so I'm limited to choirs that employ male altos and sopranos... I suppose there are some mixed ensembles specializing in early music that would want a countertenor, but for the most part I'm probably looking at Anglican church choirs!
Alas, many of the best choirs using countertenors are based in the San Francisco Bay Area... the part of the world I'm trying to move *from*! The original title of this thread was "juggling family with career", so I was thinking of a place I could work as a musician and still afford to support my family. Mind you, I love it here, but it's getting to be so expensive to live in this part of the world.
So if anyone knows of a place where gigs are a-plenty and the cost of living is cheap, please let us know... and I'll meet you all there ;-)
