Welcome to the world of singing you are definately not alone, it is the
hardest profession there is. instead of voice lessons we need lessons in
mental toughness. I am 50 yres old and getting my Dr. in pedagogy and
performance and I am dealing with the same issues you are dealing with. As a
mezzo you have an advantage, I'm a soprano, which is a double wammy. At
least you have a Messiah solo this season, I don't even have that and I have
maturity and experience on my side, so hang in there on some level at least.
