I don't think 35 dollars an hour is expensive but if you didn't think you
were getting anywhere with it you should find a different teacher. I have
taken lessons from the choir teacher at our local High School (because I
live in a small town also) for 14 dollars an hour. I am now going to start
taking lessons 100 miles away for 32 dollars an hour but made arrangements
to only have them every other week because of the expense and the driving.
The best and easiest place to find a good teacher would be at a college or
university near by. I found my current teacher on the internet on NATS
online (National Association of Teachers of Singing).
