I think that what you say sounds spot on. However, do you have any clues as to how to do the character study? Until I started singing a great deal, with individual lessons, 1 yr ago, I had no comprehension of poetry, and I have never been able to act. I am now desperately trying to understand poetry, which after all, is the basis of most art songs. Any hints about the process you employ, or good book recommendations would be much appreciated.
