If there is going to be a CD project, the way to go is to have participants
record their songs as mpeg (.mp3) on their computer and have the
coordinator write the mpegs onto a CD using a CD-R (a writer). You can
record to your computer if it has a mike input or record on tape / minidisk
and play it into a line-in input, if your computer is so equipped. That
would be kind of cool, using the technology; but, some folks with older
systems would be left out.

The simplest media for the participants is probably audio tape.
