I know of such an animal;
"Perfect Pitch: Color Hearing For Expanded Musical Awareness"
David L. Burge

ISBN : 0-942542-97-5

It is available with a series of tapes in which David presents
lectures and guidance. The book itself is very small.

I have owned the book and tapes for a while now, but I have not
gone through the exercises since they generally require a second
person to play notes to you so you can try to guess what they are.
My saxophone teacher does frequently play a series of notes to me
and asks me to follow him, so I am getting some practice at note
recognition now.

So, I can not really comment on the effectiveness of David's course,
but I do believe he talks sense and I do believe it is possible to
learn perfect pitch.
