Hi all! My name is Ann, I'm a 25 year old soprano. I have been singing all my life but since I've been out of High School have not done much on the Classical side. Anyway to make a long story short I am going to an interview/first lesson next week and don't know what to bring along with me. She says she wants to know what my repetoire is. Excuse me for being a little ignorant but what does that mean exactly? She told me to bring one song I know well and one that I have trouble with. I have currently joined a choir and we are doing a portion of Handel's Messiah so I guess that's something I am definitely having a hard time with. I do sing in the church choir regularly but don't think a hymn would be appropriate. Since I haven't done anything for so long as far as classical music goes I surely can't bring something Country or Pop to my lesson can I? How can I bring something I'm comfortable with if I haven't done anything "classical" for 5 years. I have done Christmas music, just your basic Christmas songs is that considered classical?
Any help would be very much appreciated!!
Thanks
