Dear Molly:
Don't you dare give up singing!!!!! That's crazy. If you see your ability
and you are singing in Messiah then you must have something....just
not what they were looking for in your school opera.
People get picked all the time for parts where they don't appear to be
the best choice. It happens to big stars not just amateurs and students.
Find out why your teacher only gives you 20 min. lessons and if you
aren't satisfied then go to the music dept. and get another teacher.
I'm curious...why did you transfer to this school? What happened at the
other one?
I'm a voice teacher and know from experience that the arts is very
subjective. Charlotte Church is famous and so is Brittany Spears and
there's a world of difference between them both isn't there?
Don't make a decision to quit if you feel you will have any regrets later.
