Sorry for the late reply.

To add to all the other excellent suggestions - Quilter is perhaps the
English artsong composer par excellence (I'm biassed). Although many of
his 100+ songs are better sung by a man, and many are out of print, many
aren't, and there is a brilliant collection of 12 songs (called 'Twelve
Songs - Roger Quilter', in the 'Heritage of English Song' series)
available through Elkin Music Services. Try from that collection 'Music
and Moonlight' or 'Autumn Evening'.
