I saw on someone's reply to a recent subject(I think it was Am I too
old?) say that William Warfield was going to perform on Jan. 25 or
something. When I was a junior in H.S., I had the oppportunity to hear him
perform "Lincoln's Portait" by Copland(?). I was there for an All-State
band competition and thought it would be interesting. I was completely
blown away and still remember it to this day, 10 years later. He has a
commanding presence and a beautiful voice. I hope that anyone who has the
opportunity to see him, does.
