AMEN to that! After studying for 15 years, I took a class last year named "movement and the voice" and it changed my WHOLE outlook on singing. I (hardly) ever sing now without doing some form of physical warm up. It clears my brain, it relaxes my body, and the voice always feels more organic to my self. It is not a strenuous workout, but more enough movement in every joint to remember that there is a body underneath the voice.
I beleive very firmly that EACH voice and EACH personality is different, and that EACH has to be treated individually, i.e. one technique will never work for every singer. But i also beleive that the body, or whatever sense of it you have, will always be a part of your singing voice.
New to the list!
