I'm so glad to hear that, and then they just do the soap opera technigue of saying BUT your experiences weren't real, no one should try this, I wouldn't, so neither should you, and then they just go on a negative tirade and ask others on the list to join them, in attacking you. Drama people simply can't allow anyone to have an experience that is different than theirs. Singing, health conditions, only their experiences and viewpoints are real. I don't buy into that negaitive lifestyle. Happy And Healthy Singing Timothy Kelly MidiVox >>
Here I go....where angels fear to tread....Timothy...I read your posts with interest and admire many of the things you say & your comments, but your response to Ms. Donnell seems rather extreme. I read her post and did not feel that she was attacking you in any way...& yet you read it (obviously) as an attack. I think it is important that people are cautious re: health care issues. Research (both "scientific" and anecdotal are very important) and adults should be free to follow whichever path provides them a feeling of well-being. But there are charlatans out there ready to make a buck off of anyone willing to "buy" their way back to good health. You, obviously did a lot of reading & research & wading through material to decide which alternative treatments sounded promising. I think most of us fall somewhere between the two extremes of "only naturalistic methods" and "only scientifically proven treatments". I'm not one to discount natural instincts or "old wive's tales & folk remedies or some alternative methods", but neither am I one to invest heavily in snake oil from any peddlar who happens to be selling it. Certainly it is possible for one to believe in the "scientific method" without being accused of negative thinking. And, unfortunately, sometimes illness & disease does strike randomly....blaming a person for being stricken with something has always seemed counterproductive to me....yes, there are some contributing factors in some diseases or conditions, but your statement that conditions do not happen randomly, is in my opinion, just as negative in its own way, as you apparently felt Ms. Donnell's comments were re: your choices of alternative treatments. Ah....email...where things are so easily misinterpreted! Again, I value both your & Ms. Donnell's opinion and believe there is room for different viewpoints without feeling attacked or counterattacking. Regards, and Season's Greetings to all listers out there! Barbara
