I Agree Jessica... Completely..!! I know you have said many many times
range does not equate quality. I also agree that these notes are in her
whistle register... I think it's obvious.. anyway...

Since joining the list a for about 2 weeks now, I am getting more critical,
and I guess it is up to personal taste in the end.

Also, everyone (those uneducated in music at least) says that she has a 7
octave range... I think it's also obvious that she doesn't have that. And
what's also important to note, is that her whistle register is not connected
to her other ranges. For example, she cannot slide up from her head voice
into a whistle note.

So. I think I will always like Mariah, simply because she is unique. I
know there are a number of other singers out there who also possess a
whistle register (Shanice, Minnie Ripperton of the top of my head), but I
believe that Mariah has perhaps perfected it.
