michael,
you misunderstood what i asked. i know what and where the ventricular
folds are. what i was wondering was, were you thinking of a situation where
the ventricular folds were acting without any activity in the vocal folds?
from what i have read, i would think that isn't even possible but, i'm not
sure. if the vocal folds are engaged, then pitch control is normal unless
their behavior is being hindered by an imbalance of breath pressure or by
possible involvement of the ventricular folds. neither of the people i spoke
of earlier had a pitch problem. their pitches did seem to be like a 'double
exposure' though. is this what you meant?
