Yes - Beverly Sills, the great opera star and such a neat lady, said she ALWAYS had stage fright before every performance - even on The Johnny Carson Show. My experience has been - the more I sing in front of audiences, any audience, the more I am able to control the fear. I think some fright is a good adrenaline boost. So, my advice, just jump in, get out there and sing to anyone, anyplace (well, almost anyone, place, etc.) and start getting back into this great joy. Soon, the compliments will come which will buoy you even more. Actually, I never really can "hear" myself and I am always surprised when I get compliments but I just say "Thank You". Also, do not compare yourself with anyone else - we are all so different and unique - AND feel at ease with giving compliments to other performers - it just always comes back to you in a good way. Good luck - SING! Nora -----Original Message----- From: Minervino, Stephanie To: 'VOCALIST' <vocalist> Date: Tuesday, January 04, 2000 10:38 AM Subject: Fear of Singing!
