How I agree. I have toyed with the idea of creating my own database but have
never had the time to even think about entering all the books that I own. I
have such a hard time remembering all of the wonderful songs available when
I'm trying to assign new repertoire, but I keep trying as I hate to just
stick with the "same old" each semester. The closest I've gotten to
something like a directory is to zerox the index from many anthologies and
put them in a binder, but that effort only lasted about a year or
so.......Ah, so much music, and so little time! (Although it just occurred
to me that maybe one of my students might want to do the zeroxing for me for
some extra lesson time. Hmm. I'll see.).
Even of more value (especially for beginning teachers and students)
would be a directory which classifies each song into voice part, degree of
difficulty, language, etc. Is this anything that we might all work together
on as a Vocalist resource?
