hi rocio,
that sound i'm talking about in iglesias' voice is the one he gets
around G above middle C. i'm refering to that big hit he had this year the
name of which is something like 'bai llamos' (close as i can get. now
everyone is probably thinking 'gee, i don't remember that one'). it seems
like, for the most part, he just belts it out but, as he approaches that G,
he begins to into a pop version of 'cover'. this sound is very similar to the
sound i hear jessica simpson making in her high range. by that, i mean, there
seems to be a 'closing' of the sound as they approach their high ranges. the
effect of doing roger love's 'yogi bear' trick does something similar to the
sound.
dave grohl is the lead singer of the foo fighters. they have a video
that is currently being played alot with an airline scenario (libretto not
incl.), where he plays all the parts. it's a fairly amusing and cheerful
video.
also, can you explain 'hard mix', please?

mike
