Hello Amber. Sorry I took so long to reply - holidays & then sickness.
Some folks think that 10 years old is too young to take voice lessons but I
see that you love to sing and it looks as though very few people are taking
you seriously. I believe you should try to find an exceptional music
teacher who specializes in teaching young people. See if the teacher will
teach you piano and, as you are learning piano, see if the teacher will also
help you to sing the songs you are learning on the piano.

You may have to have your parents help you in searching for just the right
person. You want someone who is patient and fun and has lots of ideas and
has taught young people. See if the teacher has "recitals" so that you can
actually perform your piano AND your singing for family, friends and real
audiences as you learn. Tell your teacher the songs you just absolutely
love and see if the teacher has some ideas about helping you learn those
songs or something similar.

Although I am not a youngster, my voice teacher specializes in teaching
youngsters to sing and play piano and she is fantastic. She starts them on
piano and also helps with the singing. She does not yell at her students
but she does expect them to practice. She then gives them opportunities to
perform in recitals and for all sorts of events and for Rotary. Sometimes
she can suggest other students with whom a youngster might want to sing.

Keep trying and keep singing - all around your home, in choirs at school and
church. And do search for someone who can teach you correct methods of
singing and encourage you. By the way, when my niece was 10, she was
singing with me at my performances. We sang together a great deal and we
even designed some dances to go with songs. We also sang at lots of
retirement homes and we had a blast! She is 14 now and in high school -
still singing.
