Not only do I think that you are correct, I think 50% of those people think that Christmas is a day
to honor Santa Claus. For this we have to thank the Pope back in the late 390's who decided to group
Christmas with a pagan holiday. So much for the infallability of the Pope. Have you seen the latest
of the Christmas cartoons that show Santa handing out toys while singing Silent Night? Rudolph
would have been a better song for him to sing.

Speaking of singing, I wonder how many of us separate Christmas songs and Winter songs? For
instance, one of my most favorite Winter songs I tend to sing at Christmastime is 'In The Bleak
Mid-Winter.' Meredith's favorite Winter song was 'Raindrops On Roses' from Sound of Music and 7 yo
Meghan's was 'Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer.' Whatever the song, we tend to sing more at
Christmastime than at other times of the year and for that I am thankful.
