Add South Africa to the list.
Perhaps this comes as a result of taking music out of the school
curriculum? Time to re-educate audiences and to remind them that
"classical" music is for the masses.In Italy everybody sings Opera, not
just the upper classes. And what about the standing place for "groundlings"
in Shakespeare plays? Now you have to be "educated" to understand it, so
they say.
