Jessica,

I'd be careful with using photocopies. It seems
to me like most auditioners do not mind this practice,
but I know some colleges and conservatories do not
permit any photocopies at all for use during the
audition. I've even heard of "inspectors" coming to
a local college (with a large music program) at the
end of the spring semester (a big recital season) to
search for people violating the copy write laws. I
figure, if you do have the original copy, certainly
lend that to your accompanist. I understand that
copies can be easier to read, but sometimes it's not
worth the chance. But the only trouble that I've heard
of concerning copies is for college entrance
auditions, not your regular show auditions. It seems
impractical not to use photocopies for a musical
theater audition, when you want to be sure to have
varying material on hand. I hope I could be of some
help. I'm curious to hear what others have to say
about this topic also.
