Yes, you are too old.

After all, in ten years you will be 51, no matter whether you sing again or
don't. Since the age 51 (or 61 in twenty years or 71 in thirty years) is
pre-ordained, don't sing and just grow old gracefully, sitting somewhere in a
rocking chair. And then you will be able to say, at age 71, "Boy, am I glad
that I didn't start singing at age 41, 30 years ago. I was much too old."

This will make you very happy.
