I was going to disagree, until I realized that there are as many different
'uhs' as 'ahs'. The 'uh' of my native Scotland is extremely rich in
partials, whereas the 'uh' of the prairies (as in 'huh?') sounds more nasal,
and the 'uh' of the south U.S. more covered. *My* 'uh' is extremely useful
to me, and does indeed have more of the desired 'ring' than *my* 'ah'. But
you may be quite different!
