Karen:
I am familiar with the song Flemming uses as her encore - and it is quite a riot. The Singing Lesson I have heard of, but dont' know too well... just out of curiosity, where did you find/buy these two selections?
Sure! Post your program if you like - we'd love to see it!
Some more English ideas... (not to overwhelm you with suggestions here), might include looking at a group of folksongs. Britten arranged a whole pile... some of them are silly, funny and fast, and others are touchingly sentimental and appeal very much to the listeners. Alternatively, you could try an operetta set... stuff by Gilbert and Sullivan or perhaps Herbert - it isn't exactly musical theatre, but it can be light and funny too.
Best wishes!
Fiona
