As you sing more often you start to learn when you sing at your best and when you don't. Paranoia is common among professional singers - you have to be paranoid! When I was covering in "Master Class" on Bway, I was told that I might be going on the following week. The Sunday before I had tickets to a Yankee game with a group of friends. I spent the entire game PRETENDING to cheer because I didn't want to scream and blow my voice in case I had to go on. It stinks - but that's the kind of sacrifice you have to make to be a professional.
